PartMiner expands material content database

Green SupplyLine

Melville, N.Y. — PartMiner, Inc. has expanded its CAPS electronic components database with the addition of Joint Industry Guide (JIG) Material Composition Declaration values. The standard, JIG-101, was created by member companies of EICTA, JGPSSI, EIA and JEDEC.

"To meet the increasing need for hazardous material information, the CAPS Material Content Database now includes negative declaration data reported on restricted JIG substances and materials of concern. This compliments PartMiner's current RoHS data offering with much more depth at the component substance detail," said Paul Magin, senior vice president of content & solutions, PartMiner, in a statement.

PartMiner uses direct manufacturer feeds, custom data services, and the CAPS data collection methodology to collect substance data information as required by the JIG-101 and IPC-1752 (Class 3/Class 4) standards, in substance weight and parts per million (PPM) values.

JIG data is offered as a free upgrade to CAPS subscribers of the Material Content database segment.
