SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Micromem Applied Sensor Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of Micromem Technologies Inc., has signed a joint development agreement with Unotron Ltd.

The collaborative research agreement will integrate Micromen's magnetic sensor technology into Unotron's washable keyboards.

The ability of Unotron's keyboards to be washed and sterilized without loss in functionality helps reduce the spread of bacteria and viruses that thrive in healthcare environments, according to Unotron (Dallas).

The keyboard is patented with SpillSeal technology and tested to the International Standards NEMA4X and IP66, meaning one can wash and disinfect the keyboard in hospital grade cleaning solutions, helping to reduce the spread of germs and cross infection.

Based in Toronto, Canada, Micromem continues to develop a magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM) and magnetic sensor technologies. It is focused on the launch of sensory products for use in both defense and consumer applications.
